The paid and free flu vaccines for the 2025–2026 season have arrived at Perekliinik, and starting this week, everyone who wishes can get vaccinated against the flu.

Why get vaccinated?
Flu is a serious respiratory infectious disease. According to WHO and ECDC experts, flu causes between 40,000 and 220,000 deaths worldwide each year. During each flu season, 5–15% of a country’s population becomes infected. In Estonia, over 10,000 people get the flu annually, with around 1,000 ending up in hospital. Of those, about 9% require intensive care, and 5% die.

When to get vaccinated?
You can get vaccinated against the flu throughout the season, but the most effective protection comes from getting the shot before the peak of the infection period (from October to December). Immunity develops within two weeks of vaccination.

Who can get the vaccine for free in 2025?
In 2025, the flu vaccine is available free of charge to people receiving general or special care services (both around-the-clock and community-based), everyone over 60 years old, pregnant women, children up to 7 years old, and minors from flu risk groups.
